STUDENT FEEDBACK

I'm passionate about advocating for the students of McMaster Engineering, and as VP External I would introduce initiatives to obtain student input on the issues that are most important to them. Especially during COVID, I want to ensure that students feel heard and know that the MES is always ready to advocate on their behalf.

To promote student engagement I would organize a town hall meeting at the beginning of the semester for students to express their concerns and the issues that they would like discussed at upcoming conferences. This may include discussions about mental health, sustainability, inclusivity, equity, diversity and online education. This initiative would provide a safe space for students to advocate for issues that they are passionate about.

Town hall Discussion

Following the town hall discussion, a survey would be made available on the MES website for students to continue expressing their concerns and advocate for issues that are important to them. This provides the VP External with continuous feedback from students and engagement throughout the year.

Online Survey

Working closely with department and first year representatives would allow the VP External to gain further insight into student concerns that have arisen during discussions with their respective department societies.
